Lucerne\/Herzogenaurach, December 2, 2007.<\/strong> At the Final Draw for the UEFA EURO 2008\u2122 in Lucerne today, <\/strong>adidas and UEFA unveiled the adidas \u201cEUROPASS\u201d: the official match ball of the competition. The ball\u2019s new surface structure allows players to control and direct it perfectly in all weather conditions. The revolutionary PSC- Texture\u2122 consists of a sophisticated and extremely fine structure on the ball\u2019s outer skin that guarantees optimum grip between ball and boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name \u201cEUROPASS\u201d refers to the common \u201cEURO\u201d pass between the two host countries of Austria and Switzerland. It also represents every pass the players will make on the pitch during UEFA EURO 2008. Last but not least, it signifies the co-operation among all the fans who will make their way to Austria and Switzerland for the final competition.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adidas \u201cEUROPASS\u201d combines tradition with modernity. Its classic colouring – a white base colour with black dots \u2013 calls to mind the balls of bygone decades, yet its bonding with round dynamic elements in silver and red results in an innovative and very modern design which perfectly suits the host countries. Both countries combine tradition with creativity and a strong record of innovation in developing new products. The national flags of both countries have also been integrated into the ball design, with eight circles in a subtle silver effect. The 12 black dots contain individual graphic elements developed by UEFA to accompany the EURO logo. These elements stand for passion, friendship, action, training, fans and the winning goal, which appear as watermarks in the black dots of the adidas \u201cEUROPASS\u201d.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like +Teamgeist\u2122<\/sup>, the official match ball of the 2006 FIFA World Cup\u2122, the adidas \u201cEUROPASS\u201d is constructed out of 14 panels using revolutionary Thermal Bonding Technology. This combined with the new PSC-Texture\u2122 surface structure gives the \u201cEUROPASS\u201d its perfect handling characteristics and allows the players exceptional ball control. The unique outer skin improves power transmission, creates greater swerve and increases accuracy on the pitch, in all conceivable weather conditions. And for the goalkeeper too, providing a much better grip between glove and ball, substantially improves his catching of the ball.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Vienna\/Herzogenaurach, 30 April 2008<\/strong> \u2013 Today, in the Oval Hall of Vienna\u2019s MuseumsQuartier cultural complex, adidas and UEFA presented the adidas \u201cEUROPASS gloria<\/strong>\u201d, the official ball for the Final of UEFA EURO 2008\u2122.  Herbert Hainer (adidas AG Chairman and CEO) presented the silver ball with black dots to UEFA President Michel Platini. The \u201cEUROPASS gloria<\/strong>\u201d was created specifically for the most important match of the UEFA European Football Championship 2008\u2122 and will only be used for the Final of UEFA EURO 2008\u2122, which takes place in Vienna on 29 June 2008. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the Henri Delaunay Trophy, the \u201cEUROPASS gloria<\/strong>\u201d shimmers silver and, like the \u201cEUROPASS\u201d, has twelve black dots, combining modernity with tradition. The suffix \u201cgloria\u201d in the ball\u2019s name stands for the fame and glory that will be enjoyed by the winner of UEFA EURO 2008\u2122. The name \u201cEUROPASS\u201d symbolizes the common \u201cEURO\u201d pass between the two host countries of Austria and Switzerland. In eight white circles, the national flags of Austria and Switzerland have been integrated into the silver ball design. The twelve black dots contain the Henri Delaunay Trophy as well as graphic designs typical of all the nations that have left the pitch as champions with the Henri Delaunay Trophy in hand since the inception of the UEFA European Football Championship\u2122.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
