Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion would\u2019ve been seen as fairly competitive over the course of the last few years, but this time around, you could argue that it\u2019s pretty 50\/50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Manchester City, this is the definition of a season to forget. They\u2019re out of the title race, they\u2019re out of the Champions League<\/a>, they\u2019re out of the League Cup, and the pressure is on them to win the FA Cup – despite quite clearly being the biggest team left in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n

On the flip side, you\u2019ve got Brighton. They have built a strong, sustainable model for themselves ever since coming up to the top flight and they deserve a lot of respect for the manner in which they\u2019ve conducted themselves. They have depth, they have talent, and they are so much fun to watch when they\u2019re playing at their very best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A game like this could swing one way or the other in the blink of an eye and that makes for captivating viewing. So, let\u2019s get into the nitty gritty of how we think it\u2019s all going to play out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top four is the minimum expectation at this point and after losing to Nottingham Forest, City will realise that all of the teams around them will fancy their chances against them – regardless of whether or not the game is at the Etihad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for Brighton, their slick, dynamic attacking play in the final third is going to be absolutely massive for them in a game like this. What\u2019s also going to be important is the composure that we\u2019ve seen from them on so many occasions this season, even though it hasn\u2019t been overly consistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seagulls know that there\u2019s a real opening for them to make another push for Europe. As for City, they\u2019ll be fearful, and so they should be. Guardiola will want nothing more than to finish the campaign strong but given the lack of momentum they have, they need to go back to basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have to be tight at the back and not take too many risks which, in all honesty, may lead them down the path of accidentally playing for a point. This is going to be an entertaining chess match for the purists out there, and we think it\u2019s going to end with a draw that neither side will be overly happy with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
